EMBROIDERY

Our embroidery artists can help you with your project whether you need an elegant design on just a single item or for your logo/message to be used in corporate branding on various items. We have a wide variety of items that are perfect for embroidery including ball caps, toques, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, golf shirts, aprons, throw pillows, canvas tote bags, jackets and vests, throws and blankets, assorted cotton bags, backpacks and duffels.

The cost of an embroidered logo is solely dependant on the size of the logo because as your logo increases in size, so does the thread count. This means that printing a large design can turn out to be very costly so you may want to consider screen printing rather than embroidery.

Using the digitized file (you supply to us), our machine guides the computerized thread with special instructions. It can do up to 12 units in a single run. After the embroidery is complete, there are still a few things left to do in order to ensure that the finished product is client-ready. We carefully inspect each product for any loops or threads and if any minor issues are found, we touch it up immediately and your embroidered items are finished and ready to go.

SCREEN PRINTING

With screen printing, one colour is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicoloured image or design. There are various terms used for what is essentially the same technique, traditionally the process was called screen printing or silkscreen printing because silk was used in the process. Digital printing is a much newer process that involves your artwork being processed by a computer, and then printed directly onto the surface of your product.

Screen printing is the best option for designs that require a high level of vibrancy, when printing on dark shirts, or for specialty products. Simply put silk screened shirts are printed to last where as heat transfers are not so it all depends on how long you want to use the shirt for and the budget available. Unlike a transfer which sits on top of a garment, screen printing ink actually penetrates and is cured into the fabric.

SCREEN PRINTING vs. EMBROIDERY

Printing a logo is best suited for thinner fabrics such as t-shirts as thin fabrics often don’t embroider well because the fabric will shrink in the wash, but the embroidery will not – this leads to puckering of the logo.  We can reduce this by adding a heavy backing to the stitching, but this makes the embroidered area stiff and uncomfortable and also adds to the cost. As a result we suggest that thinner fabrics be screen printed, not embroidered.

Also, screen printing is much better for larger logos/messages, so if you wish to cover the whole back of a shirt with your logo, we don’t suggest you embroider it. It will be really expensive and it would be so heavy that you would find it difficult to wear. Screen printing on large areas achieves much better results and remains light and breathable and it also adds very little extra weight to the garment.

Embroidery is most suitable to heavier fabrics like cotton golf/polo shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and jackets. It gives the best results on logos smaller than 16 square inches and is the absolute best way to logo a hat. Next to screen printing, embroidery is our second most popular method of placing your logo or message onto clothing or other accessories. Using multiple threads, a machine weaves in an out of the clothing to create loops. Many of these coloured loops eventually allow your design to come to life, one thread at a time! The results is a lasting embroidered logo that will be sure to make your organization stand out.

EMBROIDERY on HEADWEAR

We can embroider on all types of headwear with Baseball caps and toques being the most popular. The best way and most common specialty embroidery for caps is called ‘Puff’ embroidery and although it costs a little more than standard embroidery, it stands out…quite literally.

***Note: Puff Embroidery can only be done on large areas and will not work on a tiny font. We can also embroider your logo on the side of a cap, or on the back.***

EMBROIDERY on GOLF/POLO SHIRTS

We do this every day on all sorts of different polo shirts and dress shirts for the golf links or your staff uniforms, we will make your logo look professional. We have the right techniques to keep the shirt flat and avoid the puckering, scrunched up logo.

MINIMUM LETTER SIZING

One of the biggest challenges in embroidery is lettering because of thread thickness and needle size. Letters cannot be smaller than 1/4 inch tall. Most screen printed logos have text that is smaller than that, and sometimes embroidery requires a little reformatting to allow for the best possible results. Logos with excessive detail also often need to be simplified a bit to achieve consistent, reliable quality. If changes need to be made to your logo, we will contact you to discuss the available options and next best steps.
